I have to admit, I rarely watch the Award Shows all the way through. I love the Red Carpet show before, when you get to hear from a whole slew of actors and not just the winners. But is it totally ugly to say that after a while their self-importance just gets to me? Sometimes I want to say, 'Get over yourselves, you didn't cure cancer!' But it's fun to see the beauty and glamor and those personal moments in the acceptance speeches (even if they are few and far between).
It's just so fun to see the trends emerging, to see people dressing up and looking their best. I eat it up! And today's post-Golden Globes commentary has been fun. I pulled together my 3 favorite trends and then wanted to show you the everyday application. I can mail you a tiara or a trophy if you need, but following a trend or two might be just enough to make you feel like a winner. xo
RED
Red is gorgeous on everyone. It makes you feel amazing, no matter the circumstance. It's as classic and feminine as black!
PLUNGING NECKLINES
Whoa, Nelly! Saw many girls out on display last night, to go along with the plunging trend. I love the look of a v-line if the girls are kept classy and not out there (looking at you, J-Lo!) Ironically I favor a plunge or a simple v-neck for us morbidly flat-chested gals- it's elegant. Not so for the well-endowed, it just looks bridge-and-tunnel to me, sorry. Put them away. Sienna Miller here epitomized that cool elegance, a great inspiration for the everyday.
METALLIC
Metallic is fun and special, we all loved it for the Holidays! It was great to see so much metallic on the Red Carpet. And I think it's cool to see an everyday application of metallics leading us into spring. I mean, look at these metallic tanks below! Imagine with white jeans and black sandals! That subtly metallic dress would be perfect for a spring wedding or event.
